Liceo Scientifico "Leonardo da Vinci" Floridia (SR)
The Liceo Scientifico L. da Vinci, a secondary school located in Floridia, a small town in the south east of Sicily has been taking part in an Erasmus + Project, HILS, (Healthy Inclusive Life Style through schools) since September 2019. Eight Secondary Schools from all over Europe, north and south, east and west have been partecipating in it , and exactly: the Netherlands, Project coordinator, England, Slovenia, Spain Portugal , Italy , Finland and two non-school government organisations based in the Netherlands and the Uk specialised in public health and healthy school , respectively.
The three year course Project, subsidized by the European Community, will enable a large number of young students across this partnership to explore a large variety of healthy living aspects , tackle a number of barriers to a healthier , longer and more fufilling life.
All the mobilties planned in the HILS project, unfortunately, have not taken place due to the Covid pandemic, therefore , only Slovenia, Spain, Italy and Holland, where the project was concluded in June 2022,have had the possibility to welcome European students and teachers from the partner countries for a six- day meeting on the different themes each partner had worked on :
-Well being, mental health and self awareness
-Exercise and sport
-Health safety and environment
-Hils conference
In February 2021 also an online mobilty took place , it was a unique experience never experimented before since students met virtually in videoconference working together , sharing materials , producing videos, power ponts over a three day course lasting six hours a day supported by the coordinators of the HILS Project.
In Italy the project coordinator is Mrs. Giuseppa Amenta , an English teacher cooperated by a team of teachers who for each moblity have prepared students for the meetings in the different countries supporting them in their work and helping them to take awareness of the importance of leading a healthy life style.
